“Eating what stands on one leg [mushrooms and plant foods] is better than eating what stands on two legs [fowl], which is better than eating what stands on four legs [cows, pigs and other mammals].”
A Chinese proverb, shared as Rule 24 in Food Rules.

Coffee and soy milk

Quinoa salad with tomatoes, cukes and corn
Couple pieces of bread (post-Italy, I am trying to lay off the carbs, but this was the irresistible crunchy-doughy French baguette variety—miam)
White nectarine

Tea

ReplyDeleteApologies for not being a better proof reader and having to delete myself above:
ReplyDeleteOur day was vegan without trying...
Morning
Coffee
Afternoon
Coffee
Tea
Scone
Evening
Tomato and Avocado sandwich
(the bread is made by two men from France who opened a real honest to goodness French bakery here.. there is a God)
Ohmigoodness, Candice - that's a lean diet! Though, must point out, probably not totally vegan as the scone probably had dairy, but that's an impressive day. A tomato avocado sandwich sounds heavenly...
ReplyDeleteI admit to not having a healthy diet.
ReplyDeleteI eat when hungry but sometimes coffee and a pastry will suffice.
We don't eat red meat anyway so that is easy but the vegan part, knowing what else there is to cut out could be a challenge.. for a lazy person such as myself :)
Next week I will try to remember at the beginning of the day and avoid the dairy :)
Avocados are Everywhere here, every where.
