  1. Paris. New York is still in the USA.

  2. Well I am from New York City, so I say Paris, but even if I weren't I'd still say Paris....oui!

  3. Paris! Even though I really like NYC. There is just nothing like Paris. (On a side note, why does everyone say Buenos Aires is the Paris of South America. BA is nothing like it!)

  4. I have to say New York. I love Paris, but N.Y. is in my heart. Like the video with Björk where the camera goes through her clothes, through her body, inside her heart and you see a picture of Iceland...sure there is a picture of Manhattan in my heart.

  5. King Kong knew what he was doin'
when he left the town in ruin.

  6. I'm going to go with Paris but I'm biased as I've lived there, and I've NEVER been to New York!! I need to fix that.

  7. I follow this blog because, like its author, 'God I LOVE Paris!' Can't say the same about New York!

  8. Paris, Paris, Paris....that is, since you didn't offer Rome as a choice. Rome, Paris, D.C....that's my list, until I get familiar with another European city I guess.

  9. Hard for me...I am not americam and I am not french...I love both...But I am 100% sure that I was born in Paris in one of my past lives! PARIS!

  10. Given your readership base, it has to be Paris!

  11. 50/50 for me.
I like the copy shops better in NYC
Gimme a Kinkos or a Staples anyday, though I love the little Paris papeteries(sp), practical they ain't.

  12. Amy, for us, it's where you are! Love both cities though. Bob

  13. Wow, tres interessant! I thought there would be more people for NYC than just Tina. I mean, I know it's sort of obvious since my blog is all about obsession with Paris (duh). But, I am also like Bjork in that you dig a little under the skin and see that NYC is part of me.

Then again, like Valéria said, I feel at least one past life was lived in Paris. It, too, is a huge part of me - always has been and always will be.

But mostly I feel like you, Carol: 50/50 (though more for the bakeries v. patisseries debate than the copy shops v. papaeteries).

So there you have it: the perfect example of my flipping and flopping between the two. New York has always been my true love. But then Paris came along. And now I don't know where I belong.

Lana, you must, must, must visit NYC! I know you will love it.

And Erin, I wish I loved Rome the way you and many others do but it didn't move me.

And merci for your support, Bob. :)

  14. How fortunate you are to have a true love (NY) and a lover (Paris) on the side! Best of both worlds.

  15. Paris!
I've worked in New York and think of it as a dirty factory filled with angry workers. It holds no charm or attraction for me.
Paris however has an infinite amount of wonder and never fails to entertain.

  16. I'm not surprised that everyone has voted for Paris given the name of your blog, Amy! But just to try to even the score a bit, I'll pipe up for NYC, too. Actually, for the 50/50. I've been in Paris 4 years now and obviously love it, but I've never been able to shake New York, either. Sometimes it's a blessing to be doubly in love - sometimes, a real curse!
