And, lastly, Sintra

"I must just observe that the village of Cintra in Estremadura is the most beautiful in the world,” is what Lord Byron said of this quaint town, a 45-minute train ride from Lisbon.

Indeed, it was spectacular. But it was also cold so sadly we didn’t indulge in strolling through the many lush and picturesque parks.

We did, however, enter the town, and look up at the mountain and the villas and castles dotting it. And then we climbed it.



And climbed.




And soon were looking over the town and beyond.



The Castelo dos Mouro is one of the main draws, and we weren’t leaving without going to the very top.
