There's no place like home

There is no more beautiful city than Paris. But there is nowhere quite like New York. And tomorrow, I will be home for a dose of love and affection from family and friends, I will check on my apartment and reconnect with my beloved city, and, inevitably, I will binge on bagels and chocolate chip cookies and pizza and sidecars and maybe some doughnuts and cupcakes for good measure. Pourquoi pas? I have been waiting nine months to see my love. New York, New York, I am almost there...

  1. Please say hello for us also. It has been 6 years...
Wishing you a fabulous trip ! Look forward to hearing all about it when you return !

  2. Enjoy and refrain from making comparisons!

  3. Yummm bagels and amazing Pizza! Have so much fun! I am jealous that you have been in Paris and now you're going to New York!

  4. Have a great time. My wife and I became New Yorkers 3 1/2 years ago after over six decades in Philadelphia and we love our adopted city. By the way, I have a great recipe for sidecars, our favorite drink.

  5. You guys are the best - thanks for the happy wishes! I can't promise that I won't compare NYC and Paris. In fact, I can't help it - it's what I do. But in a "I love both of my kids equally" sort of way. NY is the love of my life but Paris is forever in my heart and under my skin. NY has energy and excitement; Paris has beauty and inspiration. NY makes my skin prickle; Paris makes me grin. NY has softball-sized cupcakes and cornflake marshmallow chocolate chip cookies; Paris has dainty macarons and the most perfectly formed pain aux raisins. And until I go back to Paris' sublime cheese and wine, I am going to go crazy with NY's scene and sidecars. :)

  6. Gawd Ihope the bagels don't disappoint!
    or the cupcakes..
or the whoopie pies who are awaiting eagerly!
Forget about the NY macaron though..

  7. Will you post from 'Home'?

  8. HA!
You brought Paris weather with you!
