My bonus weekend in Paris was spent doing what I do best: wandering, Velib’ing and eating.
I went from Le Pantheon in the 5eme…
…to the Eiffel Tower in the 7eme…
…to the chichi residential buildings of the 16eme.
Great bunches of dahlias (my favorite) pepper les fleuristes… and grow in Parc Monceau’s gardens.
It was brilliant sunshine on Saturday—it might as well have been July with the balmy temperatures and languid pace. Perfect for sitting at a café with une salade chevre chaud.
(Dog days, indeed.)
With the weather so nice, we—me, Sarah and Mario, plus a special guest appearance by Michael—wound up along the canal after a couple pots at Le Baron Rouge.
And then, Sunday: rain.
More rain.
And some more.
I got soaked. My feet squishing inside my Chucks, I had to hoof it back to the 13eme to change into dry clothes. Naturally, as soon as I arrived, the sun was out again.
So I ventured back outside, to the beatnick-y Butte-aux-Cailles (remember when I was there last time?? That was over two years ago!)
And finally, I fortified myself with poulet et frites. Not great. And yet perfect.
It’s the start of a new week. So much to see, do and eat.
I am glad you are still there ...for all sorts of reasons :)
