Sometimes you read something that just stays with you...

"It wasn't until Paris that something shifted. Paris was the beginning. Paris was everything."

  1. You should read the comments about this book and its author on Amazon, before praising it too much.

  2. Oh, isn't that the truth. Paris caused one of the biggest shifts of my life. Thank you, Paris.

  3. I adore Paris and while I agree a Paris experience can be life-changing, I too, read the comments linked to this book on Amazon.com. If what some of them describe are true, I would want to do more research on this author and book before exalting it.

Something to think about, perhaps, for artists/writers.

"What is at work today is linked to a general erosion of the ethical value of privacy and a parallel emergence of a widespread sense of entitlement to look at - or to make use of - the lives of others."

Here is the related article by Guy Gavriel Kay in 'the guardian':

  4. Paris really is a city that is worth visiting. The culture itself is enough to make you want to pack your bags and have a vacation at France.

  5. I can definitely identify with that statement! After reading this, I went to look up the book because I hadn't heard of it and found this article (what some of the above commenters are referring to): http://jezebel.com/5863188/how-a-teachers-alleged-student-affair-became-his-acclaimed-novel. Interesting - I'm intrigued to read the story. I know so many people who have gone to ASP, I wonder if they know the details!
