French phrase of the day: faire l'école buissonnière

  4. Well, "faire l'école buissonnière" is a kinda "bucolique" language for what it actually names, and if you can hear it in Brassens songs it's surely not words that the school kids will use themselves if they happen to do the thing.

    When I was at school myself, in Paris, and some months of sundays in back, so to speak, we were calling it: "faire la bleu" (literaly: to go for the blue). It's funny because back then I really felt it like a bad guy saying, but now, all things considered, I find it rather poetic!:)
