I'm normally really good at channeling my Oprah/hippie/new agey side. I love some serious introspection. I delight in self-help. I dig "sharing."
But for some reason, as 2011 slid into 2012, I wasn't coming up with any good resolutions like I normally would have. And now that we're five days into the New Year, instead of puzzling over what I should resolve to do, I've decided to ponder something else; something more optimistic and imaginative. And I want you to do the same...
What are you most looking forward to in 2012?
TRAVEL...The Mr. and I have decided to do some more of that, and even though we have one 17 year old still at home, and a 40 year old trapped in a 10 year old's body, we are just going to drag them along.
ReplyDeleteIt started at Thanksgiving, so it's not a "resolution".
I wish we could afford Paris this year:)
Hope your holidays were fun-filled!
Tracy
I'm just so happy 2011 is over and done with. It was a rough year. In many ways.
ReplyDeleteA friend of mine is a sports psychologist. She's encouraged us all to "set goals instead of making resolutions." I think this idea, whether you're planning on running a marathon or taking up knitting in 2012, and yours of going into the year with optimism and imagination, are great ones.
I'm looking forward to new opportunities and finding ways to make my dreams happen!
I'm going to quit squandering the fact that I'm in the Pacific Northwest and get out into the wilderness more. Join our version of the Appalaichan Trails Club, take classes, join hiking groups and possibly partipate in the Washington State Hiker Lobby Day. Possibly.
ReplyDeleteYour book? Well I will look forward to it but perhaps not more than figuring out a life routine that includes reading, museuming, and outdoorsy things in addition to work and getting dinner on the table. :)
ReplyDeleteMoving to Italy!!! My husband is getting Italian Citizenship through his great-grandfather & we have decided to take the plunge and move there for at least a year and hopefully longer (FOREVER)!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to finish what I start.
ReplyDeletePutting thoughts and ideas into plans and action.
ReplyDeleteIf I can just get myself to make a decision ~
I've vowed to enjoy things one bite at a time. And to chew more slowly. Bonne année, Amy!
ReplyDeleteAchieve more balance and serenity...My goal is that this is the year that I am the least frazzled. Deeeeeeep breaths :)
ReplyDeleteLove it. Travel, serenity, accomplishment, savoring life... it sounds like it's going to be a brilliant 2012 for everyone!
ReplyDeleteafter listening to Lennie Lopate on Hoarding yesterday, today I'm tossing and going later to Good Will.
ReplyDeleteLess stuff in 2012!
Hooray
Very much looking forward to your book and crossing paths in Paris soon!
ReplyDeleteI've been a long time reader of your blog but never commented. Anyway, I am looking forward to following my dreams and FINALLY moving to Paris. After visiting 6 times between 2010-2011 I am excited about landing in Roissy with a visa and no return ticket.
