I can't believe it. I think I was the only person who didn't have to work today. I'm usually the sucker stuck at work while the rest of the world is out playing. But today the tables were turned and it was me, let loose.
That said, it was a totally un-glamorous day. I did yoga and laundry in the morning. Went to a dermatologist appointment at which they've patched 80 potential allergens to my back. (No work outs or showers for me for two days - eek!) I switched my summer and winter wardrobes (appropriate, seeing as it's barely breaching 50 these days). Brought shit to the consignment shop. And edited my newest New York Times piece, which hopefully comes out this month. I never even put makeup on or did my hair today.
But that's okay. I met Charlie Rose and chatted with Gayle King at an event Friday night (really!). Saw Noah Baumbach, Greta Gerwig and Brian de Palma at Lincoln on Saturday. Attended a screening at the New York Film Festival. And walked along the park in the quiet rain on a Sunday night. Un-glamorous Mondays are okay, I guess, when on the heels of such lovely New York weekends.
Morning
Coffee with soy milk
Green juice
Afternoon
Salad bar from Lifethyme
Almonds
Two slices of dried pineapple
Pita chips
Evening
A kindergartner's lunchbox meal: peanut butter and jelly and carrot sticks
Here's to a great and glamorous week!
I found a recipe from a blogger for Apple Pie Bread and I am annoyed that I have to wait until we are in NY to do any baking :)
ReplyDeleteToday was a stay in day, holiday here too and rainy and dreary to boot !
I was not and have not been good lately regarding food. I am bored and edgy so I don't feel like cooking and all I eat are carbs.
Tonights dinner.
Fried potatoes served with a fried egg on top.
My version of Diner food in Argentina :)
besitos. (I will watch the NYT for your piece)
Unglam days are fine especially with 80 patches on your back and no showers for a couple of days!! Relax and enjoy those moments it sounds like your weekend was sensational!
ReplyDeleteCarla x
Amy, those days are the best! Especially after the abundant and lavish weekend! You got a lot of things done nevertheless! I love free days like this, and savour doing nothing in particular, listening to music, organizing photos, catching up on friend's e-mails,eating chocolate:)
ReplyDeleteI'm going to have to stop reading your blog soon because it makes me miss NY too much. Between this and the last post, you're killing me. Whaaaa..... I'll be there next month though - drink/food date?
ReplyDeleteMes amis, you are right. It was gloriously unglamorous!
ReplyDeleteCandice, fried egg over fried potatoes sounds pretty awesome. But so does "apple pie bread"!!!
Ally, let me know when you come to town - drink/food, oui, oui!
