Walking home from work tonight
I took the scenic route.
I braved the masses on the Champs-Élysées, but took advantage in slightly milder temperatures, to admire the Christmas lights.
And the moon over the Crillon.
Even the Christmas markets. Which aren’t very charming. Unless you like churros geantes, frites and…cupcakes.
Moi? I like the Grand Roue.
Even better, I like Place Vendome.
With the creeping, shimmering lights, it’s even more magical than ever.
Oui. Pure magique.

Cupcakes! I love cupcakes!
ReplyDeleteThe photo of the Crillon moon is lovely. Always enjoy seeing Paris holiday lights/decorations. Thanks for posting these.
Wonderful ! The cupcakes look pretty good too :)
ReplyDeleteThere should be a different word for these cupcakes. "Cupcakes" sound too ordinary.
ReplyDeletebeautiful - hoping it is dark enough next week for me to take photos before I dash off to the theatre.
ReplyDeleteMy friend took pictures of glace fruits and nougat - aiming to get a few pounds of each!
Ohhhh thank you so much for sharing those, Amy!:) I can't wait to see them for myself in a few weeks, but in the meantime, what a feast for the eyes!:)
ReplyDeleteMakes me want to be there now....wonderful images... thanks!
ReplyDeleteLovely...just lovely
ReplyDeletevery grand too
Glad you all enjoyed the photos. My mom wrote to tell me they showed them today on Oprah! lol
ReplyDeleteDuchesse, this is but a fraction of the lights - you are in for a beautiful treat.
Eli, it's dark about 15 hours a day, so I think you'll get some good shots!
Mysteryjewel, some Frenchies call cupcakes 'les petit gateaux'. Otherwise, they just add 'le' and call 'em 'le cupcakes', which I love.
Notre Dame's tree should be next... as I was 'jogging' this morning, I saw they have the tree out front. Now it just needs it decorations and lights.
Lovely, lovely, joy, joy!
I wish Notre Dame was on my jogging route.
ReplyDeleteBut at least I have a neighbor who watches for me every night and makes his car "beep" at me as I go by...
